I grew up in an amazing family. I am the youngest of four children. I have two sisters and one brother. We are all grown up and married with children now. I was born in Roy, Utah but when I was ten years old family moved to Ephraim, Utah. It quickly became my home!
Ephraim is a small town (only one stoplight, that is how small). I loved school, had great friends, and enjoyed all that my little hometown had to offer. Some of the things it offered included lakes and reservoirs, beautiful hikes, small businesses, camping, bowling, movies, The Mormon Miracle Pageant and so much more. In high school I was on the soccer team and I took theater and art classes. Most of all, I LOVED learning and sharing my knowledge.
For as long as I can remember I wanted to be an elementary school teacher and a mom. I wanted to be able to share my creative skills while also helping young children out.
I am a Christian. I try my best to help those around me and love everyone. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Growing up in this community of people taught me so much about service and the pure love of Christ. I believe that is where a lot of my desire to help others came from.
I grew up in a hardworking family. My dad has been and done pretty much anything you can think of. He was a pilot, inspected power lines, karate teacher, restaurant owner, gift shop owner, car lot owner/salesman, dollar store owner, grocery store owner and so much more! He started out as a dishwasher at the young age of 8 years old. My mom has been by his side supporting him and raising our family through many of these paths. My parents gave us such an amazing life. We spent so much time together as a family whether it was family vacations or just a simple family dinner.
My parents taught us hard work. My siblings and I were able to help out in their businesses at a young ages and we learned that hard work is so rewarding and so fun. Most of all, they taught we can achieve our goals if we are willing to work for them. My parents have supported me my whole life. They were on the sidelines cheering at my soccer games, helping me solve problems, and they even helped me and my husband start a small craft business of our own.

My senior year we moved away from my little small hometown. We moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming. It was so hard for me, but it was also one of the best things to ever happen to me. My parents and I remodeled a house. My dad taught me how to do so much. I was able to take a couple of months off my senior year and just work on the house with my parents while running a bread distributing route. This is when I found out what I really wanted.
I wanted to be a stay at home mom with my children, but also be able to find ways to help other kids out. I always thought it would be amazing to publish a children's book. After I graduated high school I decided to go to school at Snow College in Ephraim, back home.
While I was there my sister started working at a dentist office. This is also where my husband's mom was working. They hatched a plan to set us up! Long story short, we made a set-up and long distance relationship work. We got married in the summer. We lived in Logan for a little under a year, but it was too big for me. I needed a smaller town so now we are in Brigham City and we have two beautiful children.
My husband, Braxton, is a real estate agent. He is so amazing and always trying to find ways to help others. He has been helping so many people find their dream homes and better their lives. When he got his business all set up, I finally got to a place where I could write my children's book. At this time, my son was two years old. He LOVED reading and we would read at least 6 books a day. 3 before nap and 3 before bed. A lot of days we would read even more than this. He was a huge inspiration for me to write my book. I wanted to create something for him that I know he would love.
My mom helped me come up with the idea of Myrtle the Turtle. My Great-Grandma's name was Myrtle and my mom thought it would be fun to have a character named after her. So that is what I went with. Even before my book was illustrated he loved listening to the story. He got so excited for it, and that is what really pushed me to get it published. I can not wait to get all of my ideas for this series into books. It has been so fun writing for young children and I have found a new passion of mine through writing my first book. Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy the stories of Myrtle and her friends!
If you made it this far, thank you for reading!
